In 1998 earned membership into Professional Golfer's Association of America (PGA). Been the Head Golf Pro & GM at Wilkshire Golf Course since 1998. Married to Debra Kay, 2 daughters Malia Renee & Breann Michelle.

Dave Scheetz

Newest member of the BigTime Sports crew, joining our team in early 2019. For the past 40 years, Dave has done some form of play-by-play announcing for football, basketball, baseball and softball. Dave is a 1980 graduate of Massillon Washington High School and went on to earn an Associates Degree at Ohio University-Zanesville.


He has followed and covered local sports since his high school days at Massillon. Dave recently completed his 29th year of teaching at the same Washington High School where he remains as one of the co-instructors of the Career Tech Media Arts and Production program. Dave and his wife Sonia, are the proud parents of two adult children, Megan and Jerod. Dave is a life-long fan of the Cleveland sports teams and an avid Ohio State sports follower.

Frank Polen

Frank Polen is no stranger to the basketball arena. Growing up in Tuscarawas County’s hot-bed of hoops at Indian Valley South HS, Frank has a passion for service through the game of basketball. After a successful high school career where Frank earned conference, district and state accolades he eventually enrolled at Ohio Dominican and continued his basketball career.


Frank was head boys basketball coach for River View High School and Indian Valley High School. He won over 100 games his teams appeared in three district tournaments. Frank has enjoyed coaching stops at Ohio Dominican, Denison, and Muskingum Universities and has over 30 years of basketball camp experiences.

Joe Dunn

Sample Title

Joe Dunn is one of our premier announcers on Big Time Sports and has been covering high school, college and professional sports in northeastern Ohio for the past 35 years. Dunn began his broadcasting career at Channel 3 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, anchoring the local sports report on the nightly news hour. Dunn moved on to the University of Akron in 1976 where he served as Director of Sports Marketing for the Zips athletic program. During that time he hosted the Bob Huggins and Jim Dennison TV shows and helped establish the Zips radio network for football and basketball.


Dunn currently serves as color analyst for Zips basketball broadcasts and sideline reporter for Akron football on Fox Sports 1350. He is host of the Tom Arth and John Groce TV Shows on Sports Time Ohio. Dunn is co-host of the Big Time Sports Today show with Ryan Beltz, the #1 sports podcast in Stark and Tuscarawas counties. He is also co-host of the weekly Big Time Sports TV Show with Charlie Jones.

Matt Ritzert

Sample Title

Matt Ritzert is the principal of Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School and Immaculate Conception School. Prior to launching his career in education, Matt was the news and sports director at WJER Radio and has more than 30 years experience broadcasting local sports. Matt is also an avid runner and is the race director for the Union Hospital Run for Home.

Mike Gallina

Sample Title

Mike is one of our announcers on Big Time Sports games and has a long history with Stark County sports! Mike is a 1978 graduate of Minerva High School, where he excelled in the classroom and athletics. He was the Valedictorian of his senior class was captain of the football, basketball and baseball teams. Mike is a graduate of the University of Mount Union where he was a four-year baseball letter-winner in baseball.

Ron Hurst

Sample Title

Graduate of West Liberty University. Retired from Strasburg High School with 39 years in education. Spent 25 years as the Athletic Director. Was the Head Football Coach at Strasburg for 31 years (178-133-3). Was inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2012. In addition to football, Ron has coached girls track for 31 years, girls basketball from 1978-1993, and cross country for 4 years. In addition to his coaching he has been a basketball official for 34 years. Ron and wife Bobbi have 3 children, Heather, Kari, and Heath, and 3 grandchildren Brodie, Aubrey, Pierse. Ron has worked for Big Time Sports for 2 years.

Mitchell Balla

Sample Title

A stark county native, Mitch graduated Jackson high school in 2016 and then Notre Dame College (Cleveland) in 2020 where he also played baseball at both schools. Mitch was the play-by-play voice for the Notre Dame College men’s and women’s basketball teams in 2019-20. Since graduating, Mitch has been the play-by-play voice for Jackson's varsity baseball stream, Jackson's boys & girls varsity basketball streams, and The Burning River Buckets. A professional basketball team located in Lake County, OH that is a member of the ABA. 


 In addition, Mitch had hosted his own podcast as well as a small documentary series at Jackson for the baseball program called, “Homegrown”. Aside from all his broadcasting, content, and social media work for BTS, Mitch works full time for Cross Country Mortgage and also coaches baseball and has over the past 3 years. He is now the head coach for a summer baseball team out of North Canton, called the Warehouse Warkats.


Troy Richardson

Troy Richardson is a Graduate of Malone University. Has been an assistant coach at both the high school and college levels. Is in his 5th year as a broadcast member of Big Time Sports Team. Is also a senior member of the Big Time Sports sales team. Is currently a middle school history teacher, a job he truly enjoys.

Craig Leiser

Craig is a phys-ed teacher and Athletic Director at Canton South Middle School.

Craig has 24 years of basketball coaching experience with stops at Tusky Valley-Sandy Valley-Malvern and Canton South. His last stint was Varsity Girls Coach at Canton South.
