“We are Strasburg Tigers.”
That was the message at the heart of the remarks made by Shelley Krantz at the Strasburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet held Saturday night in the school’s cafeteria.
Krantz was one of five individuals inducted during the 10th induction ceremony.
Also in the Class of 2026 were Jeff Duff, Carly Clark Mayle, Emmet Riley, Craig Speicher, along with the 2002 Strasburg football team.
“Every single person who talked here tonight talked about culture,” Krantz said. “We are freakin winners. We are Strasburg Tigers. Every single person talked about community. It’s all about us being Strasburg Tigers.”
The evening wrapped up with super supporter and Hall of Famer Duck Krantz – plunger on his head and all – leading the crowd in a TIGERS cheer.
The event was more focused on community over stats, but the following did make it out on the inductees:
Jeff Duff
The ‘82 graduate was a standout in football, basketball and track.
Carly Clark Mayle
2010 graduate played softball (4-time IVC player of the year), basketball and track, earning 12 varsity letters.
Emmet Riley
Former basketball coach (1943-49, 133-28 record), educator and administrator. Passed in 2015.
Craig Speicher
Multiple sports with a record-setting track career.
Shelley Krantz
Earned 12 varsity letters, taking part in softball, basketball and track. Scored more than 1,300 points in basketball.
2002 Football Team
Earned program’s first-ever playoff win and finished with 11 wins.
The event was catered by Kathy’s Cookies, Candies and Catering with service being handled by the Strasburg softball team.
