The National Sports Forum (NSF), is one of the largest sport business conferences in North America gathering business men and women from the NFL, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, NCAA, MLB, and so many more. The conference provides opportunities to network with others from across the world. The 2025 NSF took place in Boston, Massachusetts. Every year the NSF takes eight interns from the University of Mount Union. These eight interns are chosen by the NSF through an interviewing process. Senior Jason Csank, senior Gabby Smith, senior Ally Ivey, junior Will Porter, junior Silas Kadlechek, junior Chloe Bird, sophomore Tom Dry, and sophomore Avery Ollinger were chosen for the 2025 NSF.
The conference is a three day event that took place from February 23rd through February 25th. The interns had opportunities to connect with those in attendance at the conference, as well as speakers, and trade show vendors. “This opportunity given to me through the Mount Union Sport Business program has been incredible, and great for advancing my sport career,” said Avery Ollinger. The interns arrived on Friday February 21st and worked Saturday to prepare for the attendees in the following days. Sunday kicked off the conference and had a welcome reception at Fenway Park in the evening. “It was a good time. I was like a kid on Christmas,” stated Tom Dry. On Monday, the interns helped with superpanels and breakout rooms. Tuesday, the interns helped with more breakout rooms and shuffling attendees on buses to head over to Gillette Stadium. At Gillette Stadium, the interns were able to make more connections and take a tour of the stadium.
The National Sports Forum was a great experience and allowed the interns to dive head first into the beginning of their sport business careers.
“They watch tumbling, technique, tightness of the motions, facial expressions … it’s a complete circle of different things."
